TOKYOBLOCK
Environment Art / World-Building Video Game

Tokyoblock is an environment art project intended for a world-building video game and VR experience. In the game, players will design Tokyo islands using a collection of modular blocks that represent the architecture and urban landscape of Tokyo. Each building block is a 20m x 20m x 20m module and stackable in any combinations. The players will explore their islands in walkthrough and by train in VR. The project aims to translate the language of Tokyo’s city fabric into blocks of buildings and structure, and designs a modular architecture system for a video game environment. It demonstrates a possible design example of Tokyo island made out of 6,500 Tokyoblocks stacked around the city’s landmarks to the height of 800 meters.
