For this brief we worked closely with Bettina Thomas Couture Hats. My focus for my series of images was to emphasise the unique textures of these hats. What stood out to me the most when I first saw Bettina's hats was the materials that were used to create these hats, how she got them to stay in the shapes she wanted them to be. How she made the feathers stand stiff, the use of bright vibrant colours, the use of porcupine needles as well as the different pattered materials. This is what brought me to my concept of Beautiful textures. I wanted to highlight and showcase the textures of the hats themselves and make them the main focus the image. Through the use of complementary colours and brining similar textures that were on the hats into the background and through the use of props, bringing forward the textures of the hats.
