Last Year I illustrated this series for Shanghai Nature History Museum. It was a special exhibition for children. The theme is about the life of birds: how they live and travel, what they eat and what their courtship is like. It was amazing to work on this commission.
The courtship includes the male displaying his feather, or dancing in front of the female.
Different kind of birds live in different kind of nests. For some species, a nest is simply a shallow depression made in sand; for others, it is a horizontal tunnel dug into a vertical dirt cliff, or an enormous rotting pile of vegetation and earth.
The black-headed gull, the Adélie penguin and the common pheasant build their nests directly on the ground.
The hooded crane, the swan and the bar-tailed godwit migrate as the season changes.
THANK YOU!
