YINYANG
The meaning of balanced diet here in Naija might not be what you think it is. Here, our combination isn't based on what we were thought by our primary school teacher, books or even what we learnt on T.V. But instead it's based on what I've seen on the plate of my parents, friends or even "broda Seyi" my neighbour. Ultimately, balanced chou is what mama-put has left in her series of pots e.g Rice, Yam, Spaghetti is perfect up north while vegetable, moimoin and beans isn't an issue here in the west.
So I'll say, no one should tell you what's balanced, as long as you, the ultimate factor is there to balance the food equation. :D

This inspired me to chronicle the YinYang, and what ours will look like when we speak Naija food.

Enjoy.
