Umloj & AlWajh | Pristine Development and Design Guidelines
The objectives of developing a touristic hub along the Red Sea between the towns of Umloj and AlWajh in an area rich in marine biodiversity with an untouched landscape requires development and design to be sustainable, ecologically sound and effectively designed in relation to its context to meet its purpose.
The development is approximately 5km² and is planned on green field land with the aim of creating a pole of attraction for visitors to the area of an international scale. This requires careful consideration and management of resources and assets. Thus, guidance and producing a framework for the planning and design of a large area such as this one will optimize land and resource use, create a more integrated functional and aesthetically attractive touristic area and will enhance environmental performance and manageability of the built and ecological assets within the site.
