Project Background
The Respiratory Tutor LMS will be a subscription website where graduating respiratory care students can subscribe to the services to prepare for the respiratory board exams. The first product will be the RRT exam prep. The LMS will focus on the 10 different areas of review. There will be scenario-based modules to test the learner application of their knowledge upon the completion of the review sessions and at least 5 mock exams and clinical simulation for students to practice for the boards with feedback. Once this product is completed, other exam preps will be developed including the NPS, ACCS, SDS, AE-C, RPFT, and continuing education credits for licensure.
Problem Statement
Ideally students completing respiratory therapy school should be prepared for the therapist multiple-choice and clinical scenario exams, however many schools utilize board preparation courses to assist students in getting ready for their board exams. The current board preparation materials are boring and focus on test tips only to assist in passing the exams and not improving the skills needed for an entry level respiratory therapist. This results in less qualified respiratory therapists entering the field with the potential of endangering patients. The respiratory tutor LMS will assist future respiratory therapists in preparing for the board exams and improve the person’s entry level knowledge when obtaining their first job.
