When entering this project, Meg had the colors nailed down and desired a monochromatic feel. After some visual research, I suggested adding white to the mix and a strong light source within each scene.

After sketches, detailed vectors images of props were provided to help visualize the end result.

Once mood is settled, I dive into ideating around provided messaging, colors, and characters.

First round are low-fi sketches. Typically this phase is in black and white to nail down concept and composition. Since Meg outlined the creative direction of monochromatic and color palette, I was able to sketch in color.

Second round of ideation is the high-fi sketches. These are done within in vector to nail down small details like the speaker pattern on the television.

While these guys are all grins, assembling them is quite the task! Production artist, Melanie Vallone, nailed the precision of perfect edges and no gaps. She’s the true unsung hero.
