‘Creating a connection to the city above, a ferry passenger terminal and a regeneration of the urban/pedestrian area’
The current situation is very ferry dominated. However the site is also visited by residents, bar/restaurant workers and guests. The site could benefit greatly from some elements that invite the people arriving by the ferry, as the current situation is a fusion of cars, boats and people, which does not satisfy its use.
Implementing the concept
This execution is taking place by seperating the cars from the people. Having the cars pass from one side and cannot enter the main areas unless authorised. A better defined pedestrian area is to be designed making use of the ferryterminal/canopy as well as integrating this with the lift.
