Emkore Limited
Our passion for software saw us create & publish a variety of apps (Headlines, Cryptograph and others); building products and services for clients was a logical next step: enter Emkore. Emkore is the brand name under which we (Jonas Hartmann & Arjan van der Vlies) deliver creative and strategic services to clients world wide.
Logo Design
In December 2018 we decided that Emkore was due for a redesign, or rather, a "design evolution". In this process we improved the custom designed logo typeface, accentuating the "K" in the logo. The biggest change was in the color palette. We decided to move away from grey tones only, and instead go with something more colorful. To highlight both professionalism and passion, we choose to combine "Dark Pink" red with "Space Cadet" blue. Completing the color palette are a matte "Sea Blue" blue and a bright "Blue Jeans" Blue.
Business Card
Although we're (mostly) a digital business, we thought it still a necessity to have a business cards. To make this otherwise boring piece of paper more fun, we decided to work with FontAwesome's icons. The front of the card showcases icons related to all our services, while on the back of the card, each of Emkore's partners have an personalized icon as ice breaker (I'm a sci-fi enthusiast, hence the astronaut icon).
Website
Emkore's website was built on WordPress using the Avada theme. In terms of user interface we went with a bold look, while we kept the user experience straight forward and simple. Utilizing Avada's portfolio and page template settings, we also made sure to keep the site easy to maintain and up to date. Provided that you have text & images ready; publishing a new portfolio item is done in less than 10 minutes. Updating the website, we deliberately steered away from using stock photos, and choose instead to express our corporate identity using typography, colors, and of course our portfolio.
