Here is a still from a short movie from Great Northern Productions taken with my FUJIFILM XT3. On smaller budget movies you dont always have the luxury of film lighting, a lot of independent movies are filmed with the natural light. On the day of filming it was a photographers worst nightmare, harsh unflattering sun. Having dealt with these conditions before I knew the best plan was to use some of the interior sets, work with the shade and try diffuse the sun through any windows I can find. This room was perfect. I took some test shots with the actor to work out composition, and try the light. I knew with the plastic diffusing, the sun, and the correct posing, I could create some cinematic moody looking stills.
