AB magazine is about the movement and migration of people and objects. It's aim is to display art and other mediums against the backdrop of societal concerns. Featuring the Refugee Crisis in its first issue, the content of the magazine was carefully curated to give the social issue a new perspective by having it focused on the idea of safety and the seeking of asylums. The content is then split into 3 thematic parts, which are divided formally by die-cut tabs.

Part 1: Contemplation looks at our inner self and the universal desire to seek safety. Part 2: Refugee Crisis looks at the refugees and their struggles around the world and makes up the bulk of the magazine. Part 3: The Mundane is a look at our regular, everyday asylums. By providing a comprehensive investigation into places and objects of safety, the magazine hopes to allow readers to better understand and sympathise with the flood of asylum seekers around the world.

The life jacket, usually donned by refugees as they make their journey via sea, has become a powerful symbol of the refugee crisis. Therefore, for the first 100 copies, the magazine is packaged inside a fluorescent orange zip pouch made up of ripstop nylon and reflective tape. The colour orange is also consistently used throughout the magazine to further reinforce the life jacket as a symbol of the refugee crisis.
