CAT Foundation Final Project: Trilogy

CAT Foundation Final Project: Trilogy
Part 1: Loss
This part of the trilogy is a drawn piece meant to convey the loss of a loved one, the catalyst for the long road of grief. Using Adobe Photoshop and Paint Tool Sai, the piece was put together in a sequential style displaying the events that led up to the death of our main protagonist's partner.
Part 2: Grief
This part of the trilogy is an animatic, portraying our protagonist and his struggles as he attempts to cope with the loss of his partner. Paint Tool Sai was used once again for the frames of the animatic. There was also music originally composed to add to the depression and anger that goes into grief. This rock piece was composed via physical electric guitars and digital drum kits in the music software Reaper and mixed with the audio workstation ProTools. Adobe Premiere Pro was used to edit everything together into a coherent video format.
Part 3: Acceptance
This part of the trilogy is a song meant to convey the end of the long road of grief, the protagonist accepting his partner's demise and moving on with life in her name. ProTools was used once again along with the electric guitars and drum kits. This song was composed in the music software Reason instead of Reaper. There are also synths used in the beginning for an added effect of a more cheerful feeling. The song overall is meant to have a happier and more determined feeling to set the tone for a new and brighter road moving forward.
