I designed the unlucky Fox character and illustrated a story about him for Mettem (locks engineering company), promoting 2019 product range. The unlucky Fox is present both in print (catalogue, colouring book, sticker set and other media) and at a Locksmith Fair.
The unlucky Fox is mainly unlucky because of his ongoing failures as a burglar. He's facing the harsh reality where the locks are too strong for his efforts on every door he tries. He clearly has seen better years - but he still keeps trying to be good at the bad thing he does. Throughout the catalogue we see the Fox going though a maze, chasing a mystical chicken. On his journey he transform from a spy in disguise with a tool bag, to a classy gentleman, to not-so-classy lad until finally he reaches the original state of a forest dweller, returning to his wild side.
Company's booth at a Locksmiths Fair was designed using same style: the wallpaper in the booth is the same as the wallpaper in the story, we can see tail of the Fox sticking out from corner to corner and there's a vase from the cover illustration. I've painted an actual vase, tailored specifically for the Fair, and it features the mystical chicken that was teasing the unlucky Fox all along. After the show the vase was brought to the office of Mettem as nice reminder of the Fox's adventure.
