DOUGALL HOUSE

I have grown up watching this beautiful bungalow located behind my residence, it has history dated back to 1919. It was built in the British era for late Capt. E.S.Dougall.
This house completed in 1919 is named after the late Capt. E.S. Dougall who served as an Assistant Engineer in the Bombay Port Trust till the 24th January. He was next on war service in France as a captain on the Royal Field Artillery till the 14th April was appointed a temporary major in command of his battery, when it is much regretted he was killed. Capt. Dougall was awarded the Victoria Cross for supreme bravery in action and skillful handing of his battery. He rallied and organised the infantry when they were hard pressed and although under heavy fire held up the enemy for 12 hours thereby averting a serious breach in the British line at a most critical time.
