The design for the Toronto Dream Condo is based on the idea of “Welcoming”. This idea is appropriate for the client because the condo is a place for welcoming new guests and cultures into the home. It also relates to the site/building because Toronto, Canada is one of the most welcoming and diverse cities in the world. To express this idea, the plan will incorporate beautiful and dynamic colors and textures to show the diversity in the home in relation to the city of Toronto. The way you move through the space expresses the sense of “Welcome” because you will enter through the kitchen, the main entertainment area, which will open up to the living room showing the beautiful view and colors of the Toronto islands and city below. The idea is further reinforced by the use of materials through locally grown wood and different cohesive colors to express the idea of being welcome and diverse.
