Brief: Create a booklet cover for the College For Kids 2015 summer program that represents the program and is appealing to children

Software: Created in Adobe Illustrator. Mocked up in Photoshop.
Development: The schedule includes seven categories: theatre arts, graphic arts/new media, science, health and nutrition, writing arts, music and dance, and nature. I created an illustration for each category. From top left to bottom right:
The entire layout is based on the Digital Comic Illustrations course (graphic arts).
The bowl and silverware represent the Let's Cook! course and the bottle of water represents the Get moving! Get healthy! course (Health & Nutrition).
The theater mask and make up brush represent the Stage Make-up course (Theatre Arts).
The rocket represents the Rockets Away course (Science).
The booklet and pencil represent the Handmade Books course (Writing Arts).
I used an image of our steel drummer to illustrate the Steel Drums course (Music).
Feedback: I was instructed to add a postcard to this project for my portfolio.
Improvement: Considering my resources, I decided to tease the course schedule on the postcard and create unity between the old and new project elements by using the same illustrations and color scheme. I adjusted the illustrations and color use to appear more scholarly since a postcard would be aimed towards the parents receiving them in the mail.
