Design Project - Bounce Back

BOUNCE BACK
There is an opportunity to design a pressurised chamber in which dead or flat tennis balls can be re-pressurised, thereby prolonging their service life.
The inspiration was drawn from the collaboration of British product design and tennis products. This was followed by some sketch exploration from quick thumbnails, 1:1 sketches of side profiles and then to more refined sketches.

The mood boards helped explore brands in the sector and colours used in other tennis products. This led to my first ideation of sketches and modelling before moving to digital and CAD (Creo).
The product takes deflated tennis balls and inflates them within 24 hours of being under pressure at 16psi. The product utilises the existing tennis tins the balls originally come in saving them from the waste.

The design was considered for manufacturing, so all models were sent to injection moulding factories for quotes. The following image shows a breakdown of some of the engineering drawings and the models in Keyshot.

Thank you.
