Living In My World

Living In My World
This is an art series that addresses the hip, leg, and back pain that I deal with on a regular basis. I was diagnosed with hip dysplasia, a condition where the hip socket doesn't fully cover the ball portion of the upper thighbone, when I was in college. Since my hip socket does not wrap around the ball joint in my hip, it can cause extreme pain when I am walking or siting. Sometimes, it can hinder me from living a 'normal' life and it becomes very frustrating for me.

I wanted to explore these feelings of hopelessness and frustration in my artwork in order to relieve myself of these feelings. I also wanted to help other people to view the world through my eyes. I hope my artwork can help you understand how it is to live in my world and how painful having a hidden disability can be.
