The Philosophy
As I worked with my clients and also brainstormed with local entrepreneurs about business opportunities it was my goal to make some effective and appropriate logo-marks for businesses that were unique and painted an effective picture of the brand. After each of the logos I provide a brief description of the type of business and brand as the creative elements that were considered.

The Process
I am not showcasing my entire sketchbook and logo designing process in Illustrator for each (that would be super long) but I will add that each of these icons and logo-marks were created by me and me alone. Of course I used reference images and worked with different ideas and fonts but in each case I created these logos from scratch and made them unique in many ways. 


The Magic
In regards to the animation process, I focused on telling a story for each brand. I used After Effects to bring some magic to each of these logos. This was my favorite part of the process because it brought the logos to life! St. Ives Publishing Co.
Steadiness and movement forward

The Brand
As I worked through this brand I wanted to create a coastal publishing company. I wanted it to be simple and encompass St. Ives. This company is located there and is primarily a book and magazine publisher. 


The Idea
As I went through a few different concepts such as the bay, the harbor, water and ocean themes I ended on the sailboat as an excellent icon. It symbolizes steadiness and movement which fit well with a publisher and by extension it embodies the St. Ives culture. 

The Magic
The magic or animation on this one was simple... arrive at a new book and sail away with St. Ives Publishing!


Houdini's Closet
A modern magic shop and venue

The Brand
This ideas stemmed from a conversation about Wizards and what they would have in their closet. I love the concept of magic and illusion as well as the dark side of the magic. This is a brand that has a venue and online shop and sells magic supplies and entertains people with brilliant magicians. 


The Idea
As stated above I find magic awe-inspiring. I love misdirection and all of the fantasy elements. I am also a fan of the dark magic that is embodied in literary works and motion picture. The one element that I wanted to push was the white rabbit. However I wanted to have a dark and mysterious (almost sinister) set of vibes and spent many hours moving from concept to concept and exploring different masks, illustrations and photographs. Overall, the brand is all about mystery and magic that is off-kilter.  

The Magic
The magic or animation on this one was misdirection and what better than epic smoke reveals? Abra-Kadabra...!


Neon Water
environmentally clean bottled water that's fun

The Brand
This brand is an idea of what kind of water that will be sold to businesses, hotels, venues and other places that have insane markup because of convenience. This business would own and be upfront with the markups and only be exclusive to these areas or special events and be major partner with Charity Water. By giving 50% of the profits and providing a positive PR for businesses in these venues and events it would provide a refreshing and crisp sip of our favorite bottled beverage. The other benefit would be that it is 100% sustainable and fights against environmental problems (not exactly sure how but it will!)


The Idea
The goal with this brand is to be remarkable, unforgettable and bold. This would be a simple logo mark and provide a launchpad of marketing material options! It also has to incorporate water!

The Magic
The magic was taking boring old water and making it a party!


Venus Media
New Media and video editing
The Brand
This is a strong media company with an emphasis on broadcasting and new media production.

The Idea
The idea was to take Venus the planet and provide a visual element that could work in many mediums. One of the main goals was for it to be dual functional as the loading circle in different downloads and plugin rendering situations. 

The Magic
The animation for this one was to evoke the nostalgia of media and the futuristic ever (r)evolving industry that is new media.


Dope. Tech
Startup in the Smartwatch space

The Brand
A simple and straightforward brand that only sells smartwatches that are going to give Fit-bit and the Apple Watch some serious competition. They are un-apologetically bold and futuristic. Enough with the boring apple watch or the clunky fit bit let's make something dope! 

The Idea
The idea was to be simple and incorporate the dot. The dot is a fundamental part of the ui design of the watch and would be the primary minute counter and ui element within the smartwatch.

The Magic
The magic or animation on this one was to be simple and "drop in" to the industry!


Damsel
Ladies Only Millionaire club

The Brand
This idea is something that I love! A ladies only millionaire club that focuses on not making excuses and genuineness being the best in the industry. It is about being strong and powerful women of different positions and must be self made!

The Idea
The idea on this one was to incorporate a visual icon that could be scaled and used in marketing as a unique and simple icon. The typeface was also the most important out of any of these because it needed to look feminine but powerful and modern at the same time. After many iterations I am happy with how this turned out!

The Magic
The animation needed to be loop-able so that it could play as a placeholder at meetings and prior to events.


Aidan O'Connor DDS
Independent Dentist

The Brand
This brand was self explanatory and needed to fit in the industry well. This brand is built on trust and must not be over the top crazy but still stand out from the crowd. Thus the struggle. 


The Idea
The main element was going to be a tooth right from the beginning! It had to be clean and work by itself. As I worked through the design I wanted the colors to fit the industry and the kerning of the fonts to be spot on.

The Magic
The animation was just to be a quick and fun eye-catching animation.


Floral Skull
Fashion Skate Co.

The Brand
The modern and bolder Ed Hardy-esque Skate Brand. With no room for political correctness this brand focuses on edgy and tasteful designs that range in apparel to deck designs. This is to be exclusive and to stay out of the mass produced Zumiez store and to be high quality and beautifully designed products for men and women!


The Idea
This was my favorite brand to work on and bring to life. I wanted to incorporate the floral and the skull element and after many different design options I think this turned out dope. I loved the modern vibes that I pulled together on the Est. 2019 and Fashion skate co by providing some visual distinction and spot on kerning and letter placement. I loved working on this brand and it is not to be reproduced or used in anyway without my written consent. I own the entire rights to this logo-mark

The Magic
Needed to make some magic happen and then at the end give a little dry sarcastic " ha ha " laugh that fits the brand beautifully!
