a home assignment from a series of test i had to do to for "Shenkar College of Engineering, Design and Art"
the assignment was "east - west" and we could use any material, technique and format.
what you see here is Hebrew calligraphy but with an Islamic/Arab feel
in order to do this some of the letters were created using actual Arabic type.
i took a famous quote from a well known Jewish poet that talks about his longing to Jerusalem and the land of Israel.
when i read this poem i cant help but to feel a great pride, because after many years of exile the Jewish people are living in their home land yet again.
but at the same time i cannot ignore the fact that theres is a not so small minority in Israel that wants the same for themselves. a home land.
