This was designed in my Advanced Typography course. We were told to design a non-traditional calendar using any media/means that we desired. The only catch was we could only use typography. After much brainstorming and research, I decided to create a gardening calendar. Each month has a card that that coincides with a seed packet within the package. Each packet includes directions for how and when to plant each type of seed for its specified month. There is a note-taking area on the monthly card so the gardener may record information or discoveries. The package also comes with gardening gloves as an added bonus.
These are the contents of the box. There is recycled shredded paper used as filler material so the contents to not shift around, however it may be added to a person's compost to aid in their gardening.
These are the seed packets. They're color-coded to match the cards as well as the seasons that the months fall under.
These are the monthly cards. Any days that include a holiday have an asterisk next to them, with the holidays listed at the bottom of the card.
