Beer brand and packaging design
Latxa Beer is an artisanal beer, made with the highest quality products.
Its name is Latxa in honor to the famous Latxa sheep from the Basque Country, which is a synonim of high quality of cheese, milk and wool.
The beer design’s aim is to look handmade and Basque in a modern and playful way.
The logotype is composed of the illustration of the Latxa sheep, the name of the brand in a clean sans serif typography, and the subtitle in a script typography to clarify which product it is.
It was designed to unify playfulness, modern design and the handmade feeling, all in one.
As the name of the beer brand is Latxa, and in order to make the brand more recognisable and easy to remember, Latxa sheep was created.
The mascot adds fun and youthfulness to the brand and it can be included in many ways and in many kinds of communication formats.
Together with the mascot, the isotype makes the brand more recognisable.
The isotype designed for the beer brand is the most symbolic and unique part of the logotype, apart from the Latxa sheep. Its simplicity and geometry makes it very easy to remember.
The typography was chosen in order to transmit two main messages:
Raleway was chosen to relate the beer design to Basque modern design, mainly minismalistic;
And Mindfully was chosen to emphasize that the beer is artisanal.
The color palette was chosen to be bright and full of energy in order to make Latxa beers stand out from the rest of the beers.
The aim of these colors is to remind the consumers of Basque landscapes’ colors, nice summer sunsets and the sea.
4 BEERS / 4 BEACHES
Latxa Brewery is speciallized in 4 kinds of beer: golden ale, brown ale, red ale and black ale.
Each different beer has each own design, both, in bottle format and can. Also, the four beers or cans are sold in pack, inside a box.
The box could be designed using different formats and materials: from the cheapest cardboard to a reusable high quality metal.
