Drop is a community-driven commerce platform that makes products with input from its  members and gives them a place to connect, learn, and shop with people who share their interests. In 2019, the company made its transition from Massdrop to Drop in a transformative rebrand.

As part of Drop's brand roll-out, I revamped our business cards to be aligned with our new aesthetic.  I wanted the wow-factor to hinge on contrasting textures in lieu of bold shapes or colors so we can preserve the brand's minimalist style . I explored several potential textures before landing on a black kraft paper with a vellum finish for the card stock and a dark gray metallic texture for the logo/logotype.
The front of the card features a vertical layout where I utilized a lot of negative space to break up pieces of information. The high contrast in scale facilitates a strong hierarchy, and the diagonal cut on the bottom left corner brings the slanted feature of our logotype to life.
I also wanted to integrate Drop's signature yellow in a way that was unobtrusive to the monochromatic, minimalist design. So, I applied the color to the seam.

The finished product felt as clean, alluring, and exciting as Drop's new look!
