"The tea-party" and "the mad-hatter's tea party" are two variations on the same theme. Namely, an impromtu tablecloth and breakfast parafernalia, made of fabrics and other soft materials, hanging on a vertical surface. I made the first one in 2007, right after I graduated from the school of FIne Arts and the second at the beginning of the MA course of W.C.A. I attended. They are quite big, as you can perceive from the photographs and I have never had the opportunity to present them to the public properly, due to lack of adequate space.
I am aware that "Alice in Wonderland" has been used as a reference almost too many times in conteporary art. Yet, I still find the subject to be too atractive to resist. Here I used the scene from the mad-hatter's tea party and I decided to make the table and add to its madness by presenting it perpendicularly.
