Contributor Spotlight : Billy Reiter

Billy Reiter is an amazing Adobe Stock 3D contributors. He created an array of almost 100 stylized 3D models that are optimized to work perfectly within Adobe Dimension. I recently had the opportunity to work with the Adobe Team and use a collection off some of those to create a suggestive low poly scene!
What's Your Mood?
As soon I've started working on this project I knew I wanted to create some sorta of "miniature landscape" just as if I really had all those small plastic props to play with! Once I've had a chance to look at Billy Reiter assets, I just fell in love with this low poly house and those piggy-bank guys, so I've decided they had to be the main subject of the scene! Moving from there, I've started planting out 3 different types of trees and clouds/air baloon in the sky as finishing touch.
When I was on coloring the scene, I figured out that both a summer(green) and a autumn(red) version would have been great options!

The Making Of
I've started building the scene from the house/piggy-bank placement: I wanted those element to be the "subject" of the composition so having them on the 1st third of the screen was my first try. When I'm suring this phase, I really like to work by only using a flat-white shader for everything in the scene: this helps me out to just stay focused on proportion, shapes and overall balance of the scene.
Then I've started planting all the trees on the distance in order to give some depth to the scene.
I did not went for a really "dense forest-like" tree placement, as I wanted to keep everything as clean as possible.

Finally, a very low F/Stop of the camera lens I've set the focus to be centered just around the house area, to create that sorta of "tilt shift" effect which is so typical of macro-photography!
