In 2018, the Institute of Southeast Asian Studies (ISEAS), better known as ISEAS – Yusof Ishak Institute, celebrated its 50th year anniversary. Entitled ‘Light on a Hill : The ISEAS – Yusof Ishak Institute Story : 1968-2018’, the almost 300-page publication contains many chapters of varied content related to research, diplomacy and academic accomplishments of the organisation. With a celebratory theme “Unity through understanding”, dots and lines were used to create different cultural tiles/elements to symbolise the connections made by ISEAS in Southeast Asian.
