Marshmallows were initially made from honey, grains and the mallow plant. The mallow plant’s scientific name is “Altheae Officinalis”.
By breaking down the word Altheae, I discovered that it originates from the Greek word Altho which means “cure”
or the word Altha which means “The healer”.
The word Altha is also the variation of the word althea. In addition to “Althea” being the initial name of the mallow plant,
it also means cure which emphasizes on the point I’m trying to convey about marshmallows; this is why I decided to use it in my brand name.
To get the final name, I combined the words “Althea” and “marshmallow” to come up with the name “Malthea”.
As for the tagline, I also wanted to combine between the modern marshmallow of today which is basically a candy,
and its actual use before which was a cure. Therefore, the tagline I wrote is “candied cure”.
