Since world war II there were US bases all over southern Germany. In the beginning of the  21th century they slowly started to disappear. So one base after the other closed and the soldiers left the country. Today there are just a few bases left in Germany.
As I grew up next to one of these bases, I had the chance to portrait these lost places before they were given back to Germany.
