In an Integrated Engineering Design project, I designed a crankshaft to be used in a portable air compressor. As a group we decided on the design specification for the overall compressor, before individually designing a specific component in detail.
Here is model of the crankshaft and it's nearest component that I made in solidworks. It is connected to a connecting rod and piston on the crankpin. The bearings and circlips were imported from an industry catalogue at McMaster-Carr.
