Meanwhile on Competitions

Back then when I was a freshman at college,
I didn't know that graphic design is my passion, and I didn't even care about any extra-curricular campus activities as I applied to many organizations to join and was denied afterwards. Then one day, one thing has changed.

There was a sports-and-arts event for the first-year college freshmen of IPB (we called it PASSION PPKU) and I had a chance to be the poster designer to represent my class, competing with 26 other classes. I admit that I was only a beginner in editorial applications, only 3 weeks to go for submitting my work! Anyway, with the poster's main theme of "Unite the Differences", below is what I'd come up.
For the main theme of "Unite the Differences", I'm sure it's pretty self-explanatory just by looking at the picture (map like a fractured jigsaw puzzle, different skin colors, different batiks, you know it!) And this is the first time I got an award based on design. Third place. Even the trophy had been displayed on my working table at my room since then to motivate me to continue that passion.

------------------------------------
Months has passed and another season of orientations (faculty and later department) had come. On our orientation season of computer science department (we called it Pekan Ilkomerz), one of the activities was to deliver an app idea per group of 8-10. Later the poster would be showcased as one of our activities where we explained the idea of the app. There would be 2 winners announced: one for the idea; one for the poster.

My group came up with the idea of LaporIPB. It's an app idea where student organizations can connect with each other and their performance can be reviewed by the students. Here's the poster that I made, with information including why LaporIPB, the purpose, the features, how it works, and the benefits.
Our team didn't win the prize either for the idea or for the poster design though. But fun fact: 3 semesters later I with my team reused this idea (and modified it a bit) on the academic UX project of OurMawa.

----------------------------

The 4th semester break had arrived and we had about 2 months of day without college activities (except for making public announcement on AIESEC in IPB's Instagram, for me). To fill my daily activity, I found a poster competition for a green campaign held by GreenFestIPB, using the theme of "Ways to Save The Planet". There are 2 kinds of winners: one for the committee's choice; and one for people's choice.

Below is what I came up with for that Green Campaign. Basically about an office employee who was eager to and daydreamed to get lost from a gloomy, busy day at work, with the short slogan of "Get Outside, Relax, Love Nature". I didn't win any categories, but I was in the top 9 in the GreenFestIPB
