SoLow Typeface 

SoLow is exploring design possibilities of pixelated typefaces in the tradition of Monaco — which ships with Mac OS X from the beginning. SoLow proofs that a pixelated design can result in unexpected freshly and varied letter forms. The monospace approach provides a width of 7 pixels for each and every character — regardless of its complexity. These constraints on design choices evoke radical letter forms which are defined by stair steps and pixel offsets within diagonal letters like A, M, W. The italic version is based on a 45° italic angle — which is the only possibility to maintain the grid when aiming for a slanted italic. The result is accordingly unconventional. Initially, SoLow was designed to be the neutral information carrier within all “Out of the Dark” specimens. In small point sizes, its great legibility, the robust character and lack of ornamental details make SoLow a perfect supporter alongside literally every typeface. 
But in large point sizes Solow becomes a very expressive typeface revealing its graphical power.
