I chose to extend the use of the word Basta to 'É preciso dizer basta.' (We need to say enough.) and create a campaign surrounding and raising awareness for the issue of violence against women. The campaign is in 6 of the most commonly spoken languages - English, Portuguese, Spanish, Mandarin, Hindi and Arabic. The project prompt was to develop a set of stamps and then was further developed for supporting materials.

This project arose from the rise of domestic violence against women in Portugal. In the first three months of 2019, almost 300 cases of domestic violence were reported and 27 women were murdered. In this context, Portugal used the word basta (enough) to express the concern for these numbers through marches and social media, thus the use of the word in this campaign.
