Kiril Hristov's profile

Personal Statement

I study the visible in order to express and convey the invisible. I draw my surroundings in an effort to rebuild the structure, surpassing the visible skin of the object. Drawing is my own unique attempt at creating a new reality that exceeds the “mundane”.

My art is analytical. I observe nature by dissecting each object and recreating its form. I look at the surface and the basic form as well as the evolution of the form. I want to show the progression of the shape transforming into not what it "is" but to what it "wants" to be. During the drawing process, logic, emotion, intuition, perseverance, and autonomy are transposed in to the conception, creation and the development of the work.

The mood impacts the style of the drawing. And conversely, the evolving style of the drawing has a direct effect upon me. This process mutual : mood and style coalesce.

Art is the one constant in my life; a constant process based on constant effort.
