De Hortus. Botanical Garden

De Hortus. Botanical Garden Amsterdam

De Hortus is a personal project I have been working on. De Hortus, is the largest botanical garden in Amsterdam. In the 17th century, medicinal herbs were vital to the city’s health care. Therefore, when the Hortus was founded in 1638, medicinal plants made up the core of the plant collection. I decided to re-designed the logo, created the new advertisement campaign and it’s new website for the mobile

Objective: Place this historical place on the "top-ten" must see of Amsterdam.
Challenges: Create a new image but maintaining its basis.
First, I focused on the logo design, after investigating about De Hortus. I decided I wanted to make a logo that reflects the philosophy and aesthetic of the botanical garden. Also I established that I was going to use two different colors: Green for the flowers and yellow for the plants.

If there is something, that really caught my eye about de Hortus was that they still use the "latin" names of the foliage. So I used this resource for the advertisement campaign.  Which is formed by:

- The new logo
- The date on where are. ('19)
- Their claim: "ondetk, ervaar er verwonder" ( experience, discover and be amazed)
-The name of the flower or plant in latin
- And a detail photo of the foliage.
I also made de Hortus's web ¡Animation of the mobile first here !
