Landeskunstausstellung Saarland 2008
exhibition identity
The »Landeskunstausstellung« is an exhibition of the federal state Saarland. Artits that live and work in this region are asked to submit their work. This means that in the end there are a lot of very different artits participating, each with some works, and the exhibition is held in different places within the region.

As baseline for all communication material I proposed to show the artist as he is connected to other people also living in the area. These can be other artist but also his friends, familiy or his haircutter. This approach reflects the character of this region of Germany: It is small and rural, people tend to live there for all of their live, and social networks play a very important role.

So I drew the network of artist -  including their friends and familiy - as a big beautiful image, and using this image I created a poster, postcards, and, by folding and cutting up the poster, the exhibitions' catalogue.

Unfortunately the proposoal wasn't picked due to the immenseresearch that would have been necessary to discover all the connections between people. I guess it is fair to say that it would have been difficult. As this was a students' assignemt I am still very happy to have chosen this approach.
