"The Most Patient Bear" started off as a sketch that just sort of took on a life of its own.  I included lots of progress shots on this one to show you how I work (assuming you're interested).  Either way, I love drawing me some bears!

This is how drawings often start for me - black and white shapes and textures. I like to work in a layered approach like this because it allows me to really craft each aspect of the image.

I also started a 2nd version with a night scene out of curiosity and indecision.

Here I started working with actual colors just to get the overall mood of the piece.

And the night time colors. I really love these sort of neon hot colors for night images - makes for a really fun look.
