Gene Watson has been in the music industry for more years than you or I have probably been alive. He already had his career and he never left. I have had the opportunity to work with Gene in many aspects of his career for 3 years now. It took that long to get him to say OK to a new site and brand. Gene didn't need to change anything about what he was, he needed to freshen up his look. We wanted to bring his demographic down visually and keep his older fans still knowing it was Gene. We worked directly with Gene and his management team on this project. Go through mountains of photos he has taken over the years and many different color combination. We settled on the black, red, and gold theme. This theme portrayed Gene the best to his older audience while bringing the "Johnny Cash" feel to his younger demographic.
