Doubt Convinced A Bird It Couldnt Fly
This was the title of my BFA at the Cleveland Institute of Art(CIA). Was not easy and went through many new roads on the way. It was apersonal and technical journey. Having learnt so many amazing techniques,methods and tools, and the hard effort to tell a story in the midst ofeverything that is happening in my life, ill say again... it was a journey.
Did not really go where i wanted it, nonetheless the outcome was something tobe proud of a stepping stone forward.
The outcome of these efforts resulted in a Video combining shot footage,photography, 2D and 3D animation, and 3D modeling, lighting, texturing andrendering. Too much i know...
The Video was displayed in a darkened room it was projected on the facing walland in the middle was placed an object that looked like a large LCD screen embeddedin a circular enclosure. A look closer and it becomes clear you can spin thethin disc within the circle to play the movie forward and backward and at whatspeed.
To achieve this a continues turning potentiometerwas placed on the large wooden spin wheel which was connected to a microcontroller programmed using Basic. This was hooked up to MacroMedia Director tocontrol what frame to play based on the users interaction.
Today, for me a a good story is the essence,with all that was being tackled at the time story suffered.
