Book binding project on a Photo and Spanish course at the Danish art and design school, VERA Skole for Kunst og Design. We photographed in Guatemala with SLR cameras for three weeks in the spring 2003. We created books from the photographs back in Denmark. The book is handcrafted from scanned negatives printed on untraditional photo paper to give a more tangible and textural effect in line with the book's botanical theme. A few glassine interleaves with spider web patterns are added for a representation of the wildlife habitats in the Guatemalan rainforest. The book cover is made from the vegetable fiber fabric jute. The works were exhibited at the school shortly after the course ended.
