I wanted to create an award for my best friend, who lent me her record player for the semester, which has even further proven to me how eclectic her music taste truly is. While she does have the most eclectic taste in music out of any person I've met, I noticed a majority of her records were bands from the 70's, which inspired me to do this retro, bubbly design. The award is completely hand-lettered, using Procreate, then transferring the drawing into illustrator and creating vectors for my hand drawn typeface. I had tons of fun creating this 'record' award, and photography it in my home set up with her record, which made this assignment extra special to me.

Above is an example of a mockup of a vinyl sleeve and the lining that protects the vinyl itself. The lining is a collage I created by taking various bands' logos and converting them into vector drawings. I added this as a personal touch for the recipient.

I also had lots of fun working with offset colors, creating new icons for a possible patch and/or sticker design, which I think were super fun and playful in color.
