Donut WordPress Website Design

Website Design for a Donut Company
WordPress Website Redesign for Southern Maid Donuts (School Assignment) All images and content used in this website is made up and not from or for the legitimate Southern Maid Donuts Website. Images sourced from pexels, pixabay and burst as well as other donut websites. Content and wording is all make belief and some images have been photoshopped by me with Southern Maid Donuts branding.
WIREFRAME PROCESS
Before the design stage on the Wordpress platform we create wireframes for ideally how and where we would like content to go. This is called the wireframe stage. See below examples.
Home Page Wireframe
About Page Wireframe
Blog Page Wireframe
Shop Page Wireframe
Home Page: Upon arriving to the home page, the pink circle with the downward arrows, bounce up and down to indicate that there is more content under the 'above the fold' area. We have a clear call-to-action on the home page banner 'Order Now' to let visitors know that they can order donuts online. We have strategically placed contact information in the top left corner of the website so that it is easy to find as soon as you land on the website.
Menu Page: We created a dedicated page for all the items available to order online and separated the donuts from the drinks. We experimented with the different borders available with the Wordpress theme and used a gradient for the first banner image and a squiggle line for the drink to portray melting chocolate lines.
Shop Page: Our Shop page showcases donuts and drinks available to order online. We have also added them to the right side bar too. You also have the option to see donuts and drinks separately under the 'Order Online' tab.
Donut Listing: This is the listing page for your selected donut and you have the option to order different pack sizes. We have enabled a section to leave a review and have suggested related products (other donut flavours).
Shake Listing: This is the listing page for your selected shake and you have the option to choose a different shake flavour and also size.
Contact Page: We have incorporated Google Maps so you can click onto the map listing and navigate your way around. All the icons were custom designed by myself and we have used a contact form to visitors wanting to leave a message.
Blog Page: Here is a blog article we created around Donut Workshops offered by Southern Maid Donuts. The content is directly from their Facebook Page. We have ended the blog article with a strong call-to-action, asking readers to book their workshop today.
Workshop Booking Page: We created a dedicated page for booking a workshop and experimented with a booking plugin to accommodate this feature and functionality.
About Page: Here is the about page which shared the Southern Maid story and a bit about the companies history. The number '81' dials up from 0 and is animated upon arrival on page. We have included a rotating carousel banner at the bottom of the page too.
RESPONSIVE DESIGN
The website we redesigned was responsive on iPads and also mobile friendly. See below examples of the website on an iPad and iPhone.
