Virgin Atlantic Adventure UI

Virgin Atlantic Adventure
Virgin is an iconic brand, owning a unique space. But as new experiences and destinations become more affordable, a load of new brands and propositions now challenge that space. Like many airlines, Virgin Atlantic now offers hotel stays and experiences at the point of booking flights. This new ‘Flight + Hotel’ proposition is about being able to confidently book an entire trip at the touch of a button, saving time and sometimes money.

I have to clearly demonstrate how the visual brand identity and guidelines extend consistently to the sub-brand and how are they expressed across all aspects of the experience and through different touch points, such as digital (how will the new sub-brand look in context on the Virgin Atlantic site?), print, social media or radio.
This is my final version of the app. I decided on a purple and red colour scheme to suit the Virgin Atlantic brand identity.
When you first launch the app, you are greeted with app on-boarding screens to showcase what the app is used for.
This is the Homepage and More page were the user can access all of the main features from the bottom navigation like My Flights, Booking and More.
This is the My Flights page were the user can access their details on their trip like flight times, hotel details and their boarding pass.
From the Homepage you can select your dates and location for your trip and then all the user has to do is select a hotel to stay in.
Also from the Homepage you can select the explore option, which lets the app organise a trip for the user. All you have to do is select a price range and the dates when you would like to travel and the app will organise a list of locations with already organised flights and hotels.
Explore Page Continued.
From the More Page a user can access many pages like About Us Page, Contact Us Page and Privacy Policy page.
To create an account you have to sign up with email. You can access your account details from the Account page and edit those details at any time.
I also designed a website landing page for the application.
Conclusion
After undertaking this live project, I believe I have learnt a lot in relation to user experience and also how to create a well designed and simple user interface for Virgin Atlantic Adventure. The aspects I found quite challenging about this project was coming up with a unique logo for the app, as well as planning out each and every screen that would be used for the prototype, which I created using Adobe Illustrator and InVision. I believe my explore option located on the homepage within the app is very creative as it is not implemented in other flight and hotel apps that I have seen. Overall I am very pleased with my final design concept and hope that this will further improve my understanding of user interface design.
