The Ajanta Caves and the Ellora Caves are about a 1 hour flight to Aurangabad from Mumbai. The Ajanta Caves were excavated between the 1st and 2nd Century BC and they are mostly made up using Buddhism as its main worship. Paintings and Sculptures were used in these caves an is uniquely shaped like a horse shoe.The Ellora Caves are made up of 34 Caves in 3 different eras: Buddhism, Hindu and Jain Worship. These caves were done between the 5th and 11th centuries.
