This project was created during my study abroad semester in Milan, Italy, where I was in a packaging class. I created a new fruit, called umeleon, which had to be blue on the outside and pink/red on the inside, but the shape and size was up to us. I was tasked to also come up with a narrative of the history of the fruit. This fruit gets its name from the U shape it forms, and its ability to change colors like a chameleon. The umeleon, is sensitive to the human touch and changes to a darker purple if anyone touches it. After creating the fruit, I designed a company, called Natures Everlasting Environmental Division (NEED), that would sell the fruit and its products associated with the fruit. I created a clear plastic bag for selling the fruit in groups of five at the grocery store. The rest of my packaging was targeted towards children. I designed a cough syrup medicine, diaper rash cream, and baby squeeze food. Finally, I needed to create a poster advertising all the products/packaging including the fruit.
