Initial book cover concepts from my studio. The real, published versions can't be found here: they're in the stores, homes and libraries. Most can be seen on my studio website - www.adarothenberg.com. But I think you will agree with me first concept are often the best.

Sándor Márai: Az Igazi / Judit
I wanted this quiet but powerful image for this powerful novel from the Hungarian literary master. The approved cover, now in stores in Israel, uses a more obvious image.

Yoram Kaniuk / 1948
Unpublished draft for the Italian edition cover of this book by Yoram Kaniuk. The final version also features digits molded from dirt (on www.giuntina.it and on my website)
Sandor Marai / A gyertyák csonkig égnek (Embers)
A great novel by a great author. This was my first interpretation of it. The published cover for the Hebrew edition, now in bookstores, has kept the deer as a secondary element to a face. But this version is my favorite, a bit spooky as the book is.
Meron Benbenisti / (Dream of the) White Sabra
I am not sure about the name of the final version. I worked only on this very first draft for Benbenisti's autobiographic book.
