Ostend Beach has been allowing dance lovers to enjoy a good dose of sun, sea, sultry beats, and lovely warm sand between their toes for over 10 years. Since that very first Ostend Beach festival, skinn and the organisers have been working together on the communication and growing the festival into an established value during the festival summer.
The range and diversity of events during the festival season is greater than ever. Festival-goers are overloaded with options while organisers enhance the experienceand character of their event to stand out. The beach festival could count on us to face this challenge.
The Ostend Beach brand was professionally prepared for a wave of innovation. We investigated the market and organised strategic workshops to analyse the festival, gain better insights, and make targeted choices. The most important strengths of the festival soon surfaced. Focus on music, the diverse audience, a unique location, and the overall experience were interwoven in the festival concept.
Together with the renewal of the content, we developed a new visual identity that perfectly matched the intimate atmosphere of the festival. A stylish rebrandinginspired by the movement of expanding waves and the warm glow of a setting summer sun.

Organic forms and patterns, natural shades of colour, etc.; the colours and shapesaround which the brand was designed are a reflection of the environment in which Ostend Beach takes place. All the selected elements are naturally set in motion by using continuous animations. A creative combination of liquid forms, powerful typography and warm atmosphere images form the basis of the motion style for Ostend Beach.

Skinn developed a brand framework for Ostend Beach that supports the diversity of the festival thanks to its pure simplicity and lends itself so effortlessly to the development of all necessary means of brand communication, from the festival posters to wristbands and the website.
Just like the graphic style, the website is constantly changing throughout the year. The structure and content of a festival site increases every month in the run-up to the event, from the launch of the headliners to a live experience during the event. This transformational character was the guiding principle during the design of the UX design and then the development of the new website. A festival is a social event, including online. We therefore translated the brand experience for the various social media channels by creating visuals and templatesso that Ostend Beach can actively participate in the conversation. We streamlined the digital communication strategy, the base of a content plan was drawn up, and the appropriate brand assets were delivered. This way, the organisation could create all the necessary posts and mailings in the run-up to the festival.
celebrating 10 years.
The 2019 edition of the festival is entirely dedicated to one decade of Ostend Beach. The organisation presents a strong line-up with a vibrant mix of new, emerging talent and legends from the past. Urban is also given an important place in the programme.
All brand assets were given an appropriate golden touch for this festive annual event. This gave the rebranding an extra layer of refinement. More than ever, the renewed festival concept stands firm in its beach sandals and is ready to grow, in Belgium, and who knows… maybe even far beyond.
