After two rounds of judging, 8 students were selected to represent their college and make their proposed garment for the 2018 Telstra Perth Fashion Festival.
My garment was made using a mixture of weaving techniques and quilting. It took almost 60m of Birch Cotton Heading Tape woven and attached to a fleece shell to construct the top of the sleeve and collar. The fleece shell was created using 3D pattern making methods and the maroon cotton tape was woven and hand stitched into place whilst on the stand.
The front pocket was constructed using the same methods while the side panels and wide hem were made using quilted panels.
