Coffeebrands Tin Shelving Unit-Upcycling Design Project

Coffeebrands Beans Tin Shelving Unit - Upcycling Project
A coffee beans tin contains about 3kgs of ungrounded coffee. This beautiful metal tank is thrown away. Below I present a new use as a shelving unit at your office or elsewhere in your home. A concept of Upcycling, also known as creative reuse with great benefits for our environment and our everyday lives. This setup was originally conceived and applied in large barrels by architect Francesca Cutini. She named her project Barrel 12.
The tin was cleaned thoroughly and then split in half with the help of a powertool like an angular wheel. A hinge was placed on the two cutted edges with some M3 bolts and nuts. That allows a nice and smooth movement on opening or closing.
The three shelves were created by measuring and cutting a gold mirrored acrylic sheet also found on an old promotion stand and upcycled.
A great storage for small stuff and stationery. Also a cool way to hang your memos, personal notes and daily programm with magnets . A really interesting noticeboard.
