The contest invited participants to design a book cover for the latest entry in Dan Brown's Robert Langdon series. (Past installments include The DaVinci Code and Angels & Demons.) All I knew of the, then unreleased, book was that it had a focus on modern art. I meditated on the meaning of the word "origin" with a colorful, geometric design that emulates plant growth, while maintaining some of the hallmarks of past covers, such as the page tear and over-sized title.
