"Mito Flip" is an an interactive pop-up book installation that can connect with iPad and projector. We select this concept because it goes along with the three keywords of MiTo. Pop-up book brings back youthful feeling and encourages explorations, and its interactive features bring energy and music into the installation. Moreover, like the MiTo itself, this installation is a way of integrating an object with a long tradition with new innovations.
MiTo Flip works on three levels. First, without any technology, it works as a pop-up brochure. Then when an iPad with MiTo Flip app is put under it, the installation becomes alive with light projection from the iPad under the book. User can flip different page or part of the book to trigger different animation. In the final level, the user can connect with projector to have more vivid animation projected on the book.
